I was born in Chattanooga, TN, and my family moved to Costa Rica, Central America when I was four months old. My parents were missionaries there for almost 40 years. I grew up there speaking both English and Spanish.

I graduated from Ringgold High School in Ringgold, GA while the family was on furlough from the mission field.

After college in Chattanooga, I moved to Oxford and worked at Trinity Christian Academy teaching Spanish and helping them start a band program.

It was there I met my husband, Joey Hutto. He is a partner at Sound Solutions on Hwy. 78 in Oxford.

After teaching a few years a Trinity, I attended JSU for my teaching degree in Spanish after which I taught at Weaver High School for 7 years.

While at Weaver I was able to earn my Masters Degree in Secondary Ed. from the University of Alabama.

We have a son named Jonathan and are very involved at our church, Simple Church in Oxford.

I have a passion for God, my family, the Spanish lanugage, and encouraging my students to think and explore beyond their current situations and surroundings.
